Kdenlive announced version 26.08.2 on 13 October 2026. The maintenance release includes project-handling improvements and fixes involving proxy clips, titles and audio levels. The changelog also addresses cases involving missing project assets and proxy detection.
The LTTSF perspective
These are relevant details for a table tennis club turning long recordings into short coaching clips. A volunteer may be working on a modest laptop with footage stored on an external drive. Losing a title image or finding that a project opens differently on another machine can interrupt that work.
What this could mean for your club
Our LTTSF preference is a repeatable editing workflow: keep a clear project folder, retain source footage, use meaningful clip names and test a short export before starting the full render. Proxy workflows are worth evaluating with the actual computer and footage involved. The screenshot is an archival view of Kdenlive, not evidence of the new release or a claim that LTTSF has benchmarked it.
