Inkscape 1.4.4: keep table tennis artwork editable after match day

Inkscape announced version 1.4.4 on 6 May 2026 as a maintenance and bug-fix release for Linux, macOS and Windows. The announcement describes crash fixes, performance improvements, translation updates and Windows on Arm installation files.

The LTTSF perspective

The link to table tennis is the artwork that outlives a single event. A tournament poster becomes next year’s template; a club badge appears on a website, a banner and a printed score sheet. LTTSF values workflows where volunteers can change those assets without rebuilding them from a flat image.

What this could mean for your club

Keep an editable SVG master alongside the exported PNG or print file. Document the fonts and preserve a clean version of the logo rather than stretching a screenshot to fit a new format. Before handing the artwork to another volunteer, reopen it on a second machine and check the result. Those are practical handover habits; the featured screenshot is an older Inkscape illustration, not a preview of 1.4.4.
